About Seth

Seth is a native of North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and worked for the Red Cross and Americorps for two years before going on to get his MBA from East Carolina University. The knowledge of economics, business principles, and advanced analysis he learned in that program translates well to appraisals. BB&T accepted Seth into its Leadership Development Program and after completing the program he spent a decade working in banking and finance, where a large portion of his role was as a portfolio lender. He found that he loved working in a consultative and analytical role, so the appraisal field was a natural fit. From his years relying on appraisals for loans, he knows the importance of a timely, understandable, and accurate appraisal.

Seth received his first level of appraisal license in early 2018 and jumped right into the appraisal process. He completed his certification education from the Appraisal Institute, the leader in quality appraisal education, as well as other courses from McKissock. In early 2020, Seth passed his Florida and national exams on his first try to become State-Certified General Appraiser RZ4151.

Seth’s experience includes difficult residential properties, land, agricultural properties, investment portfolios, takings, and commercial appraisals in addition to more typical residential housing. He lives for a challenge and loves the consultative nature of pre-listing and private purchase appraisals.

In 2018, Seth earned his building inspection license to add a different layer of expertise, and his FAA drone pilot certification to inspect properties and their surrounds aerially. He adds a unique set of skills and perspective to the company and we at Herring Realty Advisors have been grateful for him to bring his innovation and energy to the firm.

Seth and his wife Kate reside in Osceola County between the Reunion and Celebration resort areas. They had their first child, a son, in July of 2018.
